• WHO WE ARE? We, the project Uplifting Ourselves platform launchers, are a self-initiated and ambitious community members residing in and outside of Ethiopia.  We are determined to help bring about a new culture of self-reliance through mindset changes, where quality of life could be improved for all Ethiopians through mutual collaborations.  The sole founder and Director General of the Project Uplifting Ourselves platform is Zerihun Temesgen, and  Zerihun resides in the United States. Zerihun leads and run the project Uplifting Ourselves platform, aided by a periodically changing 2 to 4 other persons that the sole founder regularly appoint as Board Members. Also the site daily duties of the entire project platforms include the voluntarily dedicated platform admins, moderators, coordinators, managers and many other volunteers. 
  • WHO ARE THE TARGETTED BENEFICIARIES OF THIS COMMUNITY PLATFORM?  This online community platform was designed to benefit any and all people of Ethiopia and Ethiopian origins living both in Ethiopia and around the world. The value proposal of the Uplifting Ourselves platform to all the targeted beneficiaries is focused on improving individual quality of lives in a multidimensional way. Today, there are many life challenges that Ethiopians suffers from. This platform identified some of the critical individual level challenges and planned to tackle each one of them via a personal development approach on this online format. To name a few of these personal level ills that would be addressed are: absence or lack of a growth and enlightened mindset;  absence or lack of critical-thinking applications of individuals; absence or lack of specialized knowledge among citizen’s in various fields; absence or lack of positive personal character strengths with virtues and values; lack of support systems and networking to tap into;  poor personal value choices and life goal setting issues; and perspective and general knowledge deficit in important life matters. Hence in attempting to remedy these identified issues, a multidimensional solution was chosen as the ultimate value proposal. This platform primarily attempts to address each issue on the individual level.  So building up the individual in terms of morality and ethics; help instill positive character strengths; help with enlightenment and mindset changes via readings and discussion engagements;  help people become driven by positive virtues and values: help people become critical thinkers; help people networked and collaborate; encourage and place spot lights on the best and brightest; help become a lighthouse for progress and purposes in their individual lives; help create a new culture of collaborative networks where like-minded citizens share insights and experiences in life; and to help reinvent a positively Ethiopian culture with embedded solidarity, self-reliance and a growth mindset. 
  • WHAT ARE THE GOALS OF THIS PLATFORM?   The goals of this platform are to uplift, network and empower all Ethiopians to help them achieve a better quality of life by using a culture of embedded self-reliance.  So Project Uplifting Ourselves was conceived as a cultural and social-engineering movement to help re-shape the Ethiopian society in a positive and enlightened way. A revitalized Ethiopia and Ethiopian-ness is the central interest of this Project. 
  • WHAT IS EXPECTED FROM PARTICIPANTS?  The following are some of the main expectations. Participants to be inspired and faithfully guided by a high sense of social-responsibility, having the highest possible moral and ethical attitude towards each other , positive and caring collaboration for each other, empathy, being dedicated to the cultural advancement of the beloved Ethiopian people, truthfulness, having conscience-governance and fear-of-God, accommodation of differences, service to others.

እኛ ማን ነን?   የዚህ እርስበእርሳችንን ወደከፍታ መሥራች ነዋሪነቱ በሰሜን አሜሪካ የሆነው ዘሪሁን ተመስገን ይባላል። ይሁን እንጂ የዚህ እርስበእርሳችንን ወደከፍታ የማህበረሰባዊ መድረክና ሁለንተናዊ እንቅስቃሴ ባለቤት ግን በመላው ዓለማችን የሚገኙ ኢትዮጵያውያንና ትውልደ ኢትዮጵያውያን ናቸው። የማህበረሰባዊ መድረኩ ከዋና መሥራቹና ሥራ አስኪያጁ ሌላ ከሁለት እስከ አራት የሚሆኑ የቦርድ አመራር አባላት አሉት። እነዚህ የቦርድ አመራሩ አባላት በዋና መሥራቹና ሥራ አስኪያጁ በየጊዜው እየተመረጡ የማህበረሰብ መድረኩን አመራር አገልግሎት ያበረክታሉ። በተጨማሪም በየጊዜው በበጎ ፈቃደኝነት መድረኩን በነፃ የሚያገለግሉ ሁሉ ከፍተኛ የመድረኩ ባለቤትነት ሚናን ይጫወታሉ።

የተዘጋጀው ለማን ነው?  ይህ ማህበረሠባዊ የፕሮጀክታችን ክፍል  ዕድሜ፣ ጾታ፣ ጎሳ፣ ሃይማኖት፣ ማህበረሰብ፣ ሥፍራ፣ እና የመሳሰሉት ሰብዓዊ መገለጫዎችን ሳይለይ ከታች እንደተጠቀመጠው በ9 ክፍለዓለማት በመላው ዓለም የሚኖሩ ኢትዮጵያውያንንና ትውልደ ኢትዮጵያውያንን የሚያሣትፍ የጋራ መድረክ ነው ፡፡ 

የዚህ መድረክ ዓላማዎች ምንድን ናቸው?    የዚህ መድረክ ዓላማ፤ ኢትዮጵያውያንና ትውልደ ኢትዮጵያውያንን በግለሰብ ደረጃም ሆነ እንደ ማህበረሰብ በየአሉበት በኑሮአቸው እንዲደጋገፉ ለማድረግ፣ በወገናዊ አለኝታዊ ፍቅርና ቀና የትብብር መንፈስ የተቀናጀ እንዲሁም ሕዝባዊ ዕድገት ላይ ያተኮረ አዲስ የመረዳጃ ማህበራዊ መድረክን እንደ ባሕላዊ ተቋም አድርጎ ለመፍጠርም ነው። 

በዚህም መሠረት ኢትዮጵያውያንና ትውልደ ኢትዮጵያውያን የተሻለ ግለሰባዊ የኑሮ ጥራት ደረጃን ለማግኘት እንድንችል፣ እርስ  በእራሳችን በመተጋገዝ በብቃት እያንዳንዳችን ወደምንፈልገው ከፍተኛ የኑሮ ጥራት  አቅጣጫና ደረጃ ከፍ ለመደራረግ፣ ቋሚ የማህበራዊ ትስስር መረብ መሆን የሚችል በበጎና ነፃ ትብብር ላይ ተመሥርቶ ተዛማጅ የሆነ ባህላዊ ተቋም በየአለንበት ለመፍጠር፣  የራሳችን ወገን ዓለም አቀፋዊ ጥራትና ብቃት ይዞ የሚገኘውን ሀቀኛ የዳበረ ልምድ፤ ዕውቀትና ጥበብ የትም ስለሚገኝ አንዱ ለሌላው ወገኑ የብቃት ኃይል ምንጭ እንዲሆንና እንዲያጎለብተው በማቀድ በከፍተኛ ኢትዮጵያዊ አንድነት ስሜት ተነሳስተን እዚህ መጥተናል፡፡ ዓላማችን እነዚህ ብቻ ናቸው።  

ከተሳታፊዎች ምን ይጠበቃል? ሁላችንም ተሳታፊዎች በተወዳጁ ኢትዮጵያዊ ጨዋነት፣ መልካም ሥነምግባር፣ ፈርሀ እግዚአብሔር፣ የሕሊና ተገዢነት፣ ሀቀኝነት፣ ክብር፣ የወገናዊ ተቆርቋሪነት፣ ጥበበኛነት፣ በነፃ ብሔራዊ የትብብር አገልግሎትን የመስጠት መንፈስ ተሞልተን እና በፕሮጀክቱ ከፍተኛ ዓላማ እንዲሁም ጥቅም በማመን መሣተፍን ይጠበቅብናል።

To help re-invent a healthy, happy and highly enlightened Ethiopian society sustained by a new culture of embedded self-reliance.

This is an online platform that mainly run by voluntarily participating community members, specifically Ethiopians and people of Ethiopian origin. All services and value exchanges on the platform are meant to be voluntary community services, except the on the Mentorship platform. The Mentorship section of the platform can only be accessed under subscription by becoming  a Mentee or a Mentor. All other sections of the project are free online platforms made available for the greater Ethiopian community members living around the world.  All Ethiopians are encouraged and expected to become a participating member on all  of the platforms. However, all participants come and go by fully taking all risks on their own.  In general, platform service exchanges are on a non-profit community service basis. Each participant is fully responsible for their own contribution and participation on this project platform. The sole founder is Zerihun Temesgen of Seattle Washington, United States. Zerihun serves as  Director of this website project, (Project Uplifting Ourselves), so he has complete oversight and authority to provide leadership. Together with the Director and founder of the project, the 2 – 4 other founder appointed board members shall voluntarily help manage and propel this website project forward for at least 3 years at a time. The founder replaces any or all of the 2 to 4 managing board members in such a periodic manner and in accordance to internal governing rules. The governing founder would provide complete leadership and act as chairman of the 2 – 4 board members. Together all appointed Board Members and other staff shall kick start Project Uplifting Ourselves for the the first term of a revolving service position, which is three years. This online platform project may need to generate an income via website advertisement sales , mentorship platform revenues, or other financial support mechanisms in order to pay for expenses of the founder to run the project. For the first three years, there is no financial compensation to be paid to the 2-4 board members. However, if and when the project becomes a financial success,  compensation to board members may be negotiated in due time.

We have all come together here to grow as an individual as well as a community of people. More importantly, we are here because we believe in uplifting, connecting and empowering each other so we can achieve a better quality of life. All participants herein are expected to act lawfully, honestly, ethically and in the best interest of the project. In order to keep this platform or project a clean and well-lighted place for civilized public discourse about the project, below are rules and guidelines to aid judgment. By joining and participating in any of the platform activities, you confirm that you agree to be bound by the code of conduct.
ውይይቱን በጥራት ያሻሽሉት
ሁልጊዜ ጊዜዎን ወስደው በማሰብ የሚያዩት መድረክና ውይይት ላይ ዋጋና ጥራት ለማበርከት ይሞክሩ። እንደተመለከቱት የተሻለ ሃሳብ ካልመጣልዎት፣ ያስቡበትና ቆይተው ማሻሻያ ሃሳብ ሲመጣልዎት ይመለሱ።በትርጉምና ዋጋው የላቀ አስተዋፅዖ ማድረግ ጤናማና የዕውቀት መገኛ መድረክን ይፈጥራል። ሁሉም የውይይት ርዕሶች ለእኛ ቁምነገር ናቸው። ለእርሶም ውይይቶቹ ቁምነገር እንደሆኑ አድርገው ይመልከቱልን። IMPROVE THE DISCUSSION: Always look to add value to the subject matter in some way.
