This Mentorship platform service was designed, platformed and facilitated by Project Uplifting Ourselves, PUO. The targeted beneficiaries of the various mentorship services on this platform are Ethiopians and their families residing everywhere in the world. Various mentorship objectives are pursued and run by Ethiopians for Ethiopians, as a community service, but through a paid subscription format. Regardless of the distance between a Mentor and a Mentee, both the Mentor and Mentee are matched by PUO. Communication technologies such as Emails, Zoom, Skype, Telegram, Viber, etc. are used to start and finish the mentorship services. The platform process, match Mentor & Mentee, have oversight over the entire session, have evaluation conducted by both Mentor and Mentee for filing purposes, award Certificate of Community Service to Mentors.
There are 2 general Mentorship categories, in which many mentorship titles are found to choose from and participate in. The first general Mentorship category title would be Personal Development. And the second was designed for Academic or Professional fields. To successfully start and finish any chosen mentorship program, strictly following the rules and guidelines is required. PUO strongly believes this empowering platform can be a transformational tool in changing Ethiopian’s qualities of life for the better. Skill and Knowledge transfer is a key method to produce happy and fulfilled individuals. PUO believes that successful nations are built after the individuals are built, not before.
All mentoring services are directly and completely paid for by the Mentee to the platform, PUO. PUO pays the Mentor and covers other relevant expenses out of the Mentee’s fee to sustain the platform. Regardless, all service provisions are believed to be a civic duty of any socially responsible citizen. Although compensated, such service is considered a community service. Hence, at the end of any successfully completed mentorship session, Mentors would be offered an award of a Community Service Certificate by the platform. Ethiopians can start participating in the mentorship program either as a Mentor or Mentee by submitting filled out online forms found in the “Take Action!” page of this website.
